The Parks and Lands division of Clark County Public Works is seeking the community’s input about a five-acre addition to the historic Hazel Dell Community Park.
Parks and Lands is in the early stages of a long-range project to update the park’s master plan, created in 1975. A park’s master plan outlines the types of features and amenities included in a park, the park’s layout, theme and more. As part of the master plan update, the original 20 forested acres of the park will undergo improvements to increase accessibility. The update also includes five acres on the west side of the park, added in 2015.
To help determine the future amenities and layout of the added five-acre parcel, Parks and Lands is seeking input via a community survey. An online version of the survey can be found on the park’s webpage, at clark.wa.gov/public-works/hazel-dell-community-park. To receive and submit a paper copy of the survey, residents can visit the customer service desk in Building A of Public Works’ 78th Street Operations Center, located at 4700 NE 78th St. The customer service desk is open 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every other Friday. Information about hours can be found at clark.wa.gov/public-works/public-works-contact-information.
