Cougar Creek Trail

Body

Cougar Creek Trail

The 0.5 mile trail connects Northwest 119 Street with the Salmon Creek Trail. The 6-foot-wide crushed gravel travel is relatively flat and parallels the Cougar Creek.

Cougar Creek is the first major tributary upstream from the mouth of Salmon Creek. Riparian woodlands remain along much of the deep ravine in the lower reaches. Cougar Creek is the main watershed for the urbanized Hazel Dell area of Clark County.

Entry from Northwest 119th Street is a steep slope down to the trail from the sidewalk. The trailhead from the Salmon Creek is a steep uphill path to the main trail.

There is a picnic table under some Douglas fir trees at its intersection with the Salmon Creek Greenway Trail, at about the halfway point on the Salmon Creek Trail.

There is no off-street trailhead for this section of trail.
