UPDATE - January 2024
Due to recent weather, construction on the guardrail replacement project will be begin Jan. 29 instead of the previously announced start date of Jan. 22.
Guardrails will be replaced at the three locations: Northwest 36th Avenue, Northeast 10th Avenue, and Northeast Boutelle Road. Replacing old and damaged guardrails ensures compliance with safety requirements and standards set by the Washington Department of Transportation. These roads are in the Felida, Dollar Corner and Lewisville areas, respectively.
All roads will remain open during construction, however, drivers should expect delays and lane closures. Drivers should watch for flaggers and signage directing traffic through the construction area. Access to local businesses will remain open.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of February. Construction start and end dates are weather dependent.
This project will replace guardrail at four locations associated with the 2021 Hot Mix Asphalt Overlays project, completed last fall as part of Public Works’ preservation program. Guardrails will be replaced at one location on Northwest 36th Avenue, two locations on Northeast 10th Avenue and one location on Northeast Boutelle Road.
