Heritage Farm Public Access Improvements

In June 2024, Clark County Council approved the "Heritage Farm Sustainability Plan", a strategic plan for improving public access and financial sustainability of the farm. One of the next steps in this plan is developing the first phase of public access improvements. This project will include the siting, design and installation of a restroom and shelter pavilion and publicly accessible trail concept. These improvements will support existing educational uses and future visitors. The project will also develop a concept plan for a trail alignment connecting the Heritage Farm to Hazel Dell Community Park, located on the southwest corner of the property. Trail construction is not included in this first phase of development. These facilities will expand public access and support existing farm uses, helping the community enjoy the farm property and learn more about its rich cultural heritage.

Open House and survey – December 11

Parks and Nature is sharing concepts for the proposed Harvest Pavilion and trail alignment and seeks your input. You’re invited to review the concepts and share your thoughts at an open house on Dec. 11 and via an online survey.

At the open house, we will present concepts showing a new shared pavilion building, restrooms, and trail concepts. We want to learn more about how everyone – including current farm users and the general public, would like to experience the site and learn more about what’s going on at the farm. This will be your opportunity to share feedback as we finalize the project concept. Your input will help shape the farm to meet our community’s needs.

The open house will include Spanish interpretation services, light refreshments, and activities to keep kids entertained while you learn more about the project. The in-person open house is located in an accessible space.
