The Northeast 10th Avenue roadway between Northeast 149th Street and Northeast 154th Street in the Salmon Creek area of Clark County is now open to through traffic.

Clark County Public Works opened the 10th Avenue roadway to traffic today, July 28, 2022. Some final work still needs to be completed, including planting the areas around the culvert and stormwater facility and establishing the plants. The planting is expected to occur in November and December 2022, with establishment work, including irrigation, occurring for two years after that. Until that work is done, there still could be occasional single-lane closures, but the roadway will remain open to traffic during any remaining construction.

This project is part of Northeast 10th Avenue improvements, which included the installation of a center left-turn lane, bike lanes, sidewalks, a signal at the intersection with Northeast 149th Street and a new culvert at the creek crossing north of Northeast 149th Street. Other improvements included the installation of retaining walls, a sanitary sewer main, water main and stormwater facilities. Previous improvements widened Northeast 10th Avenue between Northeast 154th Street and Northeast 164th Street, including a new bridge over Whipple Creek. This project was completed in 2018.

These projects improve the local transportation system to support the Clark County Comprehensive Growth Management Plan These projects will improve travel times, encourage economic development,  upgrade stormwater management and further bring the corridor up to current road standards.
