Project update - Dec. 2024
Clark County Public Works is improving Northwest 78th Street from Northwest Lakeshore Avenue to Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue, beginning in January. The project will improve the road surface, improve and install accessible curb ramps, improve pedestrian and cyclist access, restripe the roadway, and upgrade crosswalk signals at Northwest Lakeshore Avenue, Northwest 9th Avenue and Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue. Construction will begin in January. Northwest 9th Avenue will be closed at the intersection with Northwest 78th Street. Travel east/west on Northwest 78th Street will remain accessible, but travelers on Northwest 9th Avenue or accessing Northwest 9th Avenue from Northwest 78th Street will be directed onto a detour (Northwest 82nd Street and Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue). Public Works is improving the road surface of Northwest 78th Street. This project will also improve pedestrian access by upgrading crosswalk signals and ADA ramps.

The total budget for the project is $2.79 million. The county received a grant for $2.4 million from the National Highway System Asset Management Program for project design and construction.
