Smith Bridge # 211
The construction contract was recently awarded to Catworks Construction of Vancouver, WA. Construction is currently scheduled to begin the last week of June, with the road closure set to begin July 6 and extend through September 15.
During construction, a signed detour will be in place. The detour route will be Northeast Grace Avenue/Northeast 142nd Avenue to the west. Changeable message boards will be placed beside the road at least three days prior to the closure, and detour signs will be in place along the designated detour route. Please see the attached map.
The in-water scour work is anticipated to end near the time the road is opened. In addition, planting work will occur at the site before the end of 2020, and periodic plant maintenance and replacement is scheduled to occur in 2021
Detour Route
Salmon Creek Bridge #331
Scour repair work will occur in Salmon Creek near Salmon Creek Bridge #331, on Northeast Caples Road, approximately 0.39 miles north of Northeast 159th Street. The construction contract was recently awarded to Catworks Construction of Vancouver, Wash. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in July, with the road closure set for July 13 through Sept. 18, although start and end dates are weather dependent.
During construction, a signed detour will be in place. The detour will be State Route 503 between Northeast 149th Street and Northeast 179th Street. Changeable message boards will be placed beside the road at least three days prior to the closure to alert you to the closure, and detour signs will be placed along the detour route.
The scour work in the stream is anticipated to end near the time the road is opened. Planting work will occur at the site before the end of 2020, and periodic plant maintenance and replacement is scheduled to occur in 2021.
Lehto Bridge #294
Scour repair work in Salmon Creek and wall repair work adjacent to the roadway will occur near Lehto Bridge #294, on Northeast Lehto Road approximately 0.25 miles from the intersection with Northeast Risto Road. The construction contract was recently awarded to NW Construction General Contracting of Battle Ground, Wash. Construction is currently scheduled to begin around July 20 and end in early October, although start and end dates are weather dependent.
During construction, signs, workers and equipment will be present at the site, and drivers are urged to be mindful of flaggers and conditions. The bridge and roadway will remain open during construction except for minor temporary delays during working hours, although traffic may be channeled such that one-way travel with a flagger is required during the day.
In addition to completing the scour and wall work in October, planting work will also occur at the site before the end of 2020, and periodic plant maintenance and replacement is scheduled to occur in 2021.
