Vancouver, Wash. – Salmon Creek area residents now have a second convenient location to drop off used or leftover paint: Ace Hardware. The store has joined the county’s free Paint Take-Back program and accepts latex and oil-based paint for recycling.

Twelve local paint stores now accept used or leftover paint during business hours. They are:

Vancouver, Wash. – Ducklings and chicks are associated with spring and often given to young children at this time of year. But handling and nuzzling the fluffy birds are good ways to acquire a salmonella infection, which can cause severe diarrhea, fever and stomach pain.

Vancouver, WA – A Green Neighbors Recycling Day Event takes place Saturday, April 8, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Yacolt Primary School parking lot, 406 W. Yacolt Road. At the same time, Yacolt’s annual Spring Clean-Up takes place a block away at the corner of Yacolt Road and Railroad Avenue.

Vancouver, WA – Three more Clark County restaurants are recognized as “Healthy Neighborhood Restaurants” by Clark County Public Health.

Linda’s Home Plate, Nuestra Mesa and The Garage earned the distinction by meeting specific criteria for healthier side dishes, kids meals and beverages and by adding smaller portions to their menus. Nuestra Mesa is the first restaurant in Camas to earn this recognition.
